Apparently, today was kind of big deal. I woke up and waited for the new cleaning man to arrive. The old one is moving to Canada so today was orientation day. After that brief intro, I went up to the TV room, and found the BBC. We don't have that many English channels, but luckily we have the one that matters. I watched the interviews and the back stories they gave. I'm not sure I would have woken up at 3am, but we are an hour ahead, so I figured I shouldn't miss something people will be talking about forever, if Diana's wedding is any indication.
The ceremony started and it was all very beautiful. More than anything though, all I could think about was how surreal this must be for her family. And for her. At what point to you wrap your head around the fact that you'll be Queen on day. Or that your daughter will be Queen. Just bizarre.
At one point, the new guy came upstairs and needed to vacuum. He was soft spoken and I just felt bad saying no, so after they said their "I wills", I headed back down stairs. I checked back on the computer for the "big"moments, but wasn't too wrapped up in it all.
I had planned on going out, but wasn't feeling up to an all nighter. I haven't been sleeping all that well and staying out until 6am wouldn't help that. It was a good day, and I'm happy for the weekend.
