The first thing I do in the mornings is check my emails. When I wake up, everyone at home has just gone to sleep so I usually have a couple emails waiting. This mornings news came with the announcement that Osama bin Laden had been killed and I just plain wasn't expecting it. It's a surreal moment to read about it and watch the President's announcement. It was interesting today though to not be at home during this time. The French don't have the same, personal reaction. I'm not sure exaclty what my reaction is for that matter. I'm happy for a successsful mission, and I'm relieved no U.S. troops were killed. I believe it's a good day for America.
