Another day thwarted by rain. Sort of. I had planned on going into Paris today, but rain was in the forecast. By lunch though, it was sunny and nice. I contemplated a late afternoon jaunt into the city. By 4:00pm it was raining again. Too bad.
Because I was staying in, I put the Kid to bed so that the Parents could go and see a movie. He did not want to go to sleep but he didn't fight me exceptionally hard. Seemed easy enough. I went up to the TV room to see what the 13 year old was watching and we decided to watch Pirates of the Caribbean. Everything was going fine until we heard the hurried sound of little feet. The Kid was of course trying to watch from behind the couch without being seen. Foiled again. I picked him up and carried him to his room. Crying and complaining, he told me that he loved the movie and that he never gets to watch it. I let him watch at least 1 movie a week. Why has he never chosen it, I have no idea. I couldn't leave his room, his brother even came to help. Eventually all was calm, and with the promise that he could watch it with me in the week, he finally stayed in bed. We had also promised that we wouldn't watch it, so for the next 30 minutes I was on high alert trying not to get caught in a lie. Miraculously, he was unseen the rest of the night.
