Day124: or The Day The 14 Year Old Became The 15 Year Old

We had another picnic in the park today. It's a very simple thing for me and the Kid seems to really like it. On our way home we stopped by a neighborhood sale to see if there was anything he would like. We looked t books and clothes and toys, but of course he becomes immediately fixated on a huge castle. It was our entire budget and he already has a castle, but there was nothing else really to get. It made him really happy, but I was nervous the Mom wouldn't see it that way. The boy has a lot of toys.

After the sale, he played with his castle and then we made chocolate chip cookies for the 15 year old's birthday. Today was the last kid's birthday of the year. We've almost had one birthday a month since I've been here. The cookies went over well and my life was made easier by the fact that the Mom had made a quiche that I only had to stick in the oven. I did my part and quiche and cookies were enjoyed by all. After  a little trampoline action, the Mom came home and I eased the castle into conversation. Less than thrilled but not angry, so I won't count it a total loss. The Kid got his requisite 3 stories and I called it a night.
